As the Biden administration takes office, it is not clear whether there will be a federal initiative specifically directed at growing the number of community schools, or the expansion of ISS models, in the US. However, given the things we do know about the education agenda, it seems fairly clear that there could be more money to support state efforts under ESSA to grow the number of such schools and/or provide more sustainable funding for them. We need to keep an eye out for indications of who among the new federal appointees is likely to be a champion of this and to let them know that there is grassroots support lining up behind them.
